AD-18 Candidate Forum

Join us for an AD-18 candidate forum, moderated by Ronak Davé Okoye.

Now that Rob Bonta is taking up the helm as Attorney General, his District 18 seat in the California Assembly is up for a vote. On Thursday, June 3rd at 4:30pm, we’ll be hosting a virtual AD-18 Candidate Forum. Join us to learn more about the candidates for the AD-18 seat and cast an informed vote by June 29th! This forum is co-hosted by TechEquity Collaborative, YIMBY Action East Bay, Housing Action Coalition, East Oakland Collective, and East Bay Housing Organizations.

We’ll hear from candidates Mia Bonta (D), Janani Ramachandran (D), Stephen Slauson (R), and Malia Vella (D). Ronak Davé Okoye, Oakland Director of SPUR, will be moderating this Q&A forum. We’ll be asking candidates about their positions and policy ideas for addressing the housing crisis, racial equity, and more in AD-18 and beyond. We’ll take audience questions at the end, so be sure to stick around.

Assembly District 18 encompasses the central East Bay, centered on the cities of Oakland, Alameda, and San Leandro. Check here to see if you’ll be represented by the new AD-18 Assemblymember. This event will be hosted on Zoom, register to get the attendee link.
