How COVID-19 Gutted California’s Budget

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically reshaped the state’s budget outlook. Before the pandemic, California was assuming another year of economic growth and budgeted accordingly. Instead, the economic woes from the pandemic have opened a $50 billion hole—25% of the state’s entire budget—that makes cuts inevitable and new investments difficult.

Join us on Thursday, June 18th to learn what’s in the new state budget, which programs suffered cuts and which were spared, how the state is using the budget to respond to the pandemic, and how this will impact housing and labor & workforce in California.

The webinar will feature a discussion between Catherine Bracy, Executive Director and Co-Founder of TechEquity and Chris Hoene, Executive Director of the California Budget & Policy Center.
